The new line of replicas from Kompetitor series, presented by APS, is a perfect choice for players beginning their adventure with airsoft as well as those looking for a replica in an attractively low price, but offering a solid quality of both the outer parts and the inner mechanism. It is a peculiar “budget” line featuring a positive quality-to-price ratio.
The receiver, stock and front grip are made of reinforced polymer. The outer barrel, stock pipe, magazine and minor elements as the trigger, fire selector or shell ejector cover were made of metal. The access to hop-up adjustment knob is gained by pulling back the charging handle. The battery fits inside the front grip of the replica.
The replica was equipped with an adjustable, telescopic stock ending with a rubber buttpad. A short RIS rail to mount additional accessories was placed on the stock. Another RIS rail can be found under the carrying handle and may be used for mounting scopes of various types.
An EBB – Electric Blow Back – system was mounted in the carbine, propelling the bolt dummy and thus guaranteeing an additional portion of realism.
The heart of the PR304 is a new v2 “APS Hybrid” type gearbox. Designed and made in and innovative and more user-friendly way, according to comparative tests conducted by the manufacturer, it is 33% more efficient in terms of energy consumption than a standard set. It is equipped with quick spring change system, which allows the user to adjust the initial muzzle velocity without the need of opening the gearbox.
Reinforced gears were embedded on 7mm, metal bearings. Moreover, inside there is a precise inner barrel, 6.04mm diameter, which together with moderate muzzle velocity of ~330 FPS makes PR304 a perfect device for airsoft skirmishes at short and middle distances – also in buildings and CQB operations.
The replica is sold with a metal hi-cap magazine holding 300 BBs.

Akumulator NiCd cechuje się dużą wydajnością prądową, ale występuje w nich uciążliwy efekt pamięci. Powinny być rozładowywane i ładowane w pełnych cyklach, tj. zaleca się pełne rozładowanie, a po rozładowaniu należy akumulator niezwłocznie naładować nie pozostawiając go na dłużej w stanie rozładowanym.
Akumulatory NiMH charakteryzują się szybszym czasem samorozładowania i krótszą żywotnością - z drugiej strony, osiągają one ok. 30% więcej pojemności.
Blow Back (BB) jest to system imitujący pracę zamka (odrzut podczas wystrzału), który spotykany jest najczęściej w modelach gazowych pistoletów i karabinów, jednakże co raz częściej pojawia się on także w replikach elektrycznych. Dzięki temu, strzelanie staje się bardziej zbliżone do ostrych odpowiedników, co zwiększa realizm podczas rozgrywek. Za każdym naciśnięciem za spust, replice towarzyszy tzw. "kopnięcie", czyli odrzut spowodowany zwrotnym ruchem zamka.
W modelach gazowych, system blowback działa dzięki przeznaczonej na ten cel większej części gazu, natomiast w replikach elektrycznych, zamek poruszany jest dzięki pracy silnika napędzającego cały mechanizm.
Jest to prędkość kulki, w momencie opuszczenia przez nią lufy repliki. Mierzona jest w FPS (stopy na sekundę).

Oznaczenia v2, v3, v6 nie oznaczają stopnia zaawansowania mechanizmu ,a jedynie kształt zastosowanego szkieletu, który dobierany jest przez producenta w zależności od możliwości korpusu repliki. Przykładowo, repliki z rodziny M4/M16, MP5, mają gearbox v2, natomiast rodzina AK czy G36 gearbox v3.
System Hop-Up służy do podkręcania kulki podczas wystrzału (wprowadzenie jej w obrót rotacyjny), dzięki któremu, przedłuża ona swój tor lotu. Działające prawa fizyki, powodują iż obrót kulki unosi ją do góry, natomiast siły grawitacyjne naturalnie ją przyciągają. Odpowiednie wyregulowanie Hop-Up, spowoduje wyrównanie tych dwóch zjawisk, co zaowocuje długim i prostym lotem na dłuższym dystansie oraz większeym skupieniem strzału (poprawienie celności).
