Comtac II Headset (Silicone earmuff version)
Replica of the Comtac II headset. The headset has two microphones (one at each earpiece) that pick up external sounds and amplify them. The user can adjust the volume level to their own needs. By adjusting the volume of the radio and the volume control of the headphones, you can balance the two sound levels, so that you can hear both radio announcements and your surroundings without obstruction. You can even adjust the set to increase the volume of ambient sounds to enhance auditory perception or mute them if the ambient sounds are drowning out radio announcements or interfering with your concentration.
Also, any harmful sounds are attenuated to a hearing-safe level. Once the harmful sound has ceased, the set's settings return to normal levels. The headset has an adjustable, faux leather-covered headband, which will allow the headset to fit any user's head. The microphone is mounted on a flexible cable. Power is supplied by two AA batteries. To make the set complete, it must be combined with the PTT module and radio.
