The EDGE ™ series manufactured by Specna Arms focus on an amazing external construction, solutions that increase the versatility of the replica and the and the possibility of hassle-free tuning. Straight out of the box you will get a replica in which you won’t have to make any kind of modifications, unless you want to - which will be remarkably simple.
The Specna Arms EDGE ™ machine guns are built mainly from steel, aluminum alloy and high-quality plastic.
The flash suppressor, the front sight, the barrel cooler, the outer barrel, the trigger, the dust cover, the rear sight rail and the stock slide were made out of aluminum alloy
The receiver and the most critical elements such as the bipod, all the pins, the transport handle, the barrel replacement mechanism and the trigger guard are made out of steel. The grip, pistol grip, butt-plate, handguard and part of the transport grip are made of plastic.

The replica is powered by a full-size, metal and armored M249 gearbox, which is characterized by high durability and good functionality. The mechanism is prepared for further tuning and ready for the burdens associated with providing covering fire. Inside there are such components as:

The set includes a plastic box type magazine with a capacity of 2,500 BBs, which will allow you to flood your opponent with a hail of BBs. The BBs from the magazine are fed automatically, thanks to the electric overclocking mechanism powered by 2 AA batteries (not included). The magazine operates in either automatic or Sound Control mode.

Blow Back (BB) jest to system imitujący pracę zamka (odrzut podczas wystrzału), który spotykany jest najczęściej w modelach gazowych pistoletów i karabinów, jednakże co raz częściej pojawia się on także w replikach elektrycznych. Dzięki temu, strzelanie staje się bardziej zbliżone do ostrych odpowiedników, co zwiększa realizm podczas rozgrywek. Za każdym naciśnięciem za spust, replice towarzyszy tzw. "kopnięcie", czyli odrzut spowodowany zwrotnym ruchem zamka.
W modelach gazowych, system blowback działa dzięki przeznaczonej na ten cel większej części gazu, natomiast w replikach elektrycznych, zamek poruszany jest dzięki pracy silnika napędzającego cały mechanizm.
Jest to prędkość kulki, w momencie opuszczenia przez nią lufy repliki. Mierzona jest w FPS (stopy na sekundę).

Oznaczenia v2, v3, v6 nie oznaczają stopnia zaawansowania mechanizmu ,a jedynie kształt zastosowanego szkieletu, który dobierany jest przez producenta w zależności od możliwości korpusu repliki. Przykładowo, repliki z rodziny M4/M16, MP5, mają gearbox v2, natomiast rodzina AK czy G36 gearbox v3.
System Hop-Up służy do podkręcania kulki podczas wystrzału (wprowadzenie jej w obrót rotacyjny), dzięki któremu, przedłuża ona swój tor lotu. Działające prawa fizyki, powodują iż obrót kulki unosi ją do góry, natomiast siły grawitacyjne naturalnie ją przyciągają. Odpowiednie wyregulowanie Hop-Up, spowoduje wyrównanie tych dwóch zjawisk, co zaowocuje długim i prostym lotem na dłuższym dystansie oraz większeym skupieniem strzału (poprawienie celności).
