SA-V20 assault rifle replica by Specna Arms is made largely from a uniform zinc and aluminium alloy, reinforced with steel elements in the most vulnerable points of the replica (steel elements - all the screws, pins and tactical sling swivels). Both the stock storing the battery and the pistol grip were made from polymer. The receiver of the replica and RIS hand guard have undergone the process of anodizing, which guarantees high degree of protection against corrosion. The paint was applied via a process of powder coating, after having the surface undergo the same process prior to the application of paint. This provides a much higher than usual resistance of the applied paint to abrasion.
The replicaĄŻs parts fit very well together - in a way that could be thus far noticed solely in replicas by such top-tier manufacturers as G&P or Classic Army, the replica is also perfectly balanced. This allows for almost ideal manoeuvrability of the replica and its weight is almost not noticeable once the replica has been shouldered.
The replica features a quick spring release system, so-called Enter & Convert™. The replica is fully compatible with LiPo and LiFe batteries. Due to base muzzle velocity of ~430 FPS provided by the main spring installed by default by the manufacturer, the replica is perfect for operating on a medium range.
The gearbox which is reinforced on the height of the cylinder’s head hides a steel main spring guide which is the element of the Enter & Convert™ system and also 8mm ball bearings and steel thread-wheels which are placed on spacers. The system is secured with the use of four anti-reversals. There is a type 2 cylinder and the steel breaker. Replica is factory-fitted with and accurate, rotary type polymer Hop-Up unit that allows very precise and stable regulation of BB overclocking.

Dzięki temu, strzelanie staje się bardziej zbliżone do ostrych odpowiedników, co zwiększa realizm podczas rozgrywek. Za każdym naciśnięciem za spust, replice towarzyszy tzw. "kopnięcie", czyli odrzut spowodowany zwrotnym ruchem zamka.
W modelach gazowych, system blowback działa dzięki przeznaczonej na ten cel większej części gazu, natomiast w replikach elektrycznych, zamek poruszany jest dzięki pracy silnika napędzającego cały mechanizm.
Jest to prędkość kulki, w momencie opuszczenia przez nią lufy repliki. Mierzona jest w FPS (stopy na sekundę).

Oznaczenia v2, v3, v6 nie oznaczają stopnia zaawansowania mechanizmu ,a jedynie kształt zastosowanego szkieletu, który dobierany jest przez producenta w zależności od możliwości korpusu repliki. Przykładowo, repliki z rodziny M4/M16, MP5, mają gearbox v2, natomiast rodzina AK czy G36 gearbox v3.
System Hop-Up służy do podkręcania kulki podczas wystrzału (wprowadzenie jej w obrót rotacyjny), dzięki któremu, przedłuża ona swój tor lotu. Działające prawa fizyki, powodują iż obrót kulki unosi ją do góry, natomiast siły grawitacyjne naturalnie ją przyciągają. Odpowiednie wyregulowanie Hop-Up, spowoduje wyrównanie tych dwóch zjawisk, co zaowocuje długim i prostym lotem na dłuższym dystansie oraz większeym skupieniem strzału (poprawienie celności).
