UAR501 Assault Rifle Replica
The UAR 501 manufactured by APS is an innovative replica equipped with a special hybrid gearbox, bearing the brand name "APS HYBRiD Gearbox". The abbreviation UAR stands for Urban Assault Rifle, i.e. a model designed for MOUT activities (fighting in an urban environment) and CQB (short distances). The compactness and high maneuverability of the replica was achieved thanks to the bull-pup system. Inside, we managed to fit an effective 385mm inner barrel, with the entire length of the replica being only 645mm.
Virtually the entire receiver is made of out reinforced polymer plastic. The thick butt plate is made of thick rubber. The replica has a long, top 22mm RIS rail and three rails on the front grip. Thanks to them, we can fit the rifle with a whole plethora of additional tactical accessories, ranging from optics, through grips and tactical flashlights, to laser target pointers.
The replica is incredibly functional - it has three magazine release buttons, one next to the socket, and two at the pistol grip - they can be operated with the index finger. The firing mode selector is double-sided, the reloading handle can also be moved to the other side - thanks to this, there are no problems with handling the replica by both right and left-handed operators. After pulling back the charging handle, we gain access to the hop-up chamber, the bolt-catch button is located on the back of the stock.
The battery is housed inside of the stock. The pistol grip has a compartment for 2 spare 123A batteries. The replica comes with metal hi-cap magazines with a capacity of 190 300 BBs.
The heart of the UAR 501 is the new v.3 "APS HYBRiD" type gearbox. Designed and made using an innovative and more user-friendly technique, according to comparative tests carried out by the manufacturer, it is 33% more efficient in terms of energy consumption than the standard system. It is equipped with a quick spring change system that allows the user to change the muzzle velocity of the projectile without having to open up the gearbox. The set includes 2 additional main springs.
The reinforced gears are mounted on 8 mm metal bearings. The electrical system consists of silver-plated, low-resistance wiring that ensures stable operation, and the replica's motor is equipped with a metal core. The cylinder and the precision inner barrel with a diameter of 6.04 mm are made out of stainless steel.
Reasonable for an assault replica, the muzzle velocity of combined with the optimal length of the inner barrel and its reduced diameter make the replica perfect for assault operations and shooting at medium distances with high efficiency and focus.

Akumulator NiCd cechuje się dużą wydajnością prądową, ale występuje w nich uciążliwy efekt pamięci. Powinny być rozładowywane i ładowane w pełnych cyklach, tj. zaleca się pełne rozładowanie, a po rozładowaniu należy akumulator niezwłocznie naładować nie pozostawiając go na dłużej w stanie rozładowanym.
Akumulatory NiMH charakteryzują się szybszym czasem samorozładowania i krótszą żywotnością - z drugiej strony, osiągają one ok. 30% więcej pojemności.
Blow Back (BB) jest to system imitujący pracę zamka (odrzut podczas wystrzału), który spotykany jest najczęściej w modelach gazowych pistoletów i karabinów, jednakże co raz częściej pojawia się on także w replikach elektrycznych. Dzięki temu, strzelanie staje się bardziej zbliżone do ostrych odpowiedników, co zwiększa realizm podczas rozgrywek. Za każdym naciśnięciem za spust, replice towarzyszy tzw. "kopnięcie", czyli odrzut spowodowany zwrotnym ruchem zamka.
W modelach gazowych, system blowback działa dzięki przeznaczonej na ten cel większej części gazu, natomiast w replikach elektrycznych, zamek poruszany jest dzięki pracy silnika napędzającego cały mechanizm.
Jest to prędkość kulki, w momencie opuszczenia przez nią lufy repliki. Mierzona jest w FPS (stopy na sekundę).

Oznaczenia v2, v3, v6 nie oznaczają stopnia zaawansowania mechanizmu ,a jedynie kształt zastosowanego szkieletu, który dobierany jest przez producenta w zależności od możliwości korpusu repliki. Przykładowo, repliki z rodziny M4/M16, MP5, mają gearbox v2, natomiast rodzina AK czy G36 gearbox v3.
System Hop-Up służy do podkręcania kulki podczas wystrzału (wprowadzenie jej w obrót rotacyjny), dzięki któremu, przedłuża ona swój tor lotu. Działające prawa fizyki, powodują iż obrót kulki unosi ją do góry, natomiast siły grawitacyjne naturalnie ją przyciągają. Odpowiednie wyregulowanie Hop-Up, spowoduje wyrównanie tych dwóch zjawisk, co zaowocuje długim i prostym lotem na dłuższym dystansie oraz większeym skupieniem strzału (poprawienie celności).
