HK416 is a design often chosen not only by special units operators, but also by gaming enthusiasts or airsoft players.

What is HK416 carbine?

The HK416 is an assault rifle designed in 2005 by Heckler & Koch. It was intended to replace the AR15 family of designs, but at the same time be similar enough so that those using the AR15 on a daily basis would have no trouble operating it. HK416 has gained worldwide recognition and is used by a number of armies and units, including the Polish GROM.

Differences between HK416 and AR15

The HK416 is often compared to AR15 family designs, such as the iconic M4A1 and M16. To the untrained eye these models differ only in appearance. Nothing could be further from the truth. The HK416 has a completely different gas system, resembling the one used in another Heckler & Koch design, namely the HK G36. This makes it less susceptible to contaminants.

HK416 airsoft replicas

There are many HK416 replicas available on the airsoft market, both electric and gas-powered. However, not all of them have trademarks, or - in other words - markings of their counterpart. Their presence does not affect the quality or performance of the replica, but is a nice addition, especially for those who appreciate realism.

Like AR15-style designs, all HK416 replicas feature Gearbox v2. This means that these replicas are a great base for tuning due to the large selection of replacement parts. Accessories such as stock, trigger guard and pistol grip are also compatible with the AR15.

More important, however, are the differences. The first impression after replacing the AR15 with the HK416 replica is the rigidity of construction, resulting from a different connection of the front grip with the body. HK416 replicas are equipped with long 22mm RIS back rail, running in a line along the body and front grip. Thanks to such a long rail, it is possible to perfectly calibrate the collimator and magnifier. The length of the rail will also be appreciated by people who want to build their own DMR on the basis of the HK416 carbine. Thanks to the back rail it is also possible to set the ideal distance between the scope and the eye. Aiming instruments are also different. The collapsible foresight does not interfere with the use of the collimator, and the removable pin barrel has as many as 4 settings. Another difference is pistol grip, which is profiled to increase ergonomics of the replica. The HK416 replica's battery slot resembles the SF version, and thanks to the large space, it can accommodate a LiPo pack of up to 11.1V, offering 6 length settings.
