AA-12 Shotgun
Electric Replica
Auto Assault - 12
(AA-12) shotgun,
known also as a Sledge Hammer, originally designed and known as Atchisson Assault Shotgun, developed in 1972 by Maxwell Atchisson 12 gauge shotgun. Its most well-known feature is
a significantly reduced (practically completely eliminated) recoil during
firing. The current version from 2005 was in development for almost 18 years
since the date MPS Inc. patent was sold. Original construction served as a base
for several other models of firearms, among others, USAS-12 combat shotgun.
Stock AA-12 has a fire rate of 300 shots per a minute. The replica achieves
a fire rate of 1800 shots per minute (30/sec).
AA-12 replica
manufactured by Tokyo Marui is the first in the world electric
shotgun replica. A receiver made from durable polymer conceals a skeleton and
internal parts made from metal. Clear and precise replica finish grants it a
unique and very authentic appearance. It is manufactured by known for its
precision and innovativeness Tokyo Marui and considered the most effective
tool for clearing rooms.
The replica features a tri-barrel system with three Hop-Up chambers
where each can be calibrated independently. Attention: only the top
barrel can be vertically adjusted, remaining chambers can be adjusted
horizontally.
All internal parts
were designed specially for the needs of this
replica, including the motor. New, proprietary tri-cylinder gearbox system
by Tokyo Marui - “3 Cylinder Mechabox”. The tappet
plate was covered with “Kashima-coat” coating made from “alumite”,
which allows for feeding of 3 BBs happen much more smoothly. The FET unit (a
switch and electronics safeguards system) protects electronic circuits from
overvoltage. In case of excessive discharge of a battery or overcharge it
will inform the user using a red LED diode.
The battery is stored inside the
stock of the replica. In order to gain access to the battery compartment,
it is necessary to remove the stock pad by tilting back the wings. The
replica can fit Li-Po batteries with a capacity of 1400 mAh.
The replica features 3
fire mode settings:
- Safe
- Semi (between Safe and Fire, unmarked, however there is an audible click when
it is selected)
- Fire - full-auto mode, where fire rate reaches up to 10 BBs per second per
barrel, which gives 30 FPS in total for all barrels
It is an astounding fire rate, which allows to empty a 93 BB magazine in
approximately 3 seconds.
The set includes a polymer,
Mid-Cap magazine with a capacity of up to 93 BBs, equipped with a special
ejector that guarantees feeding of BBs to all chambers, up to the very last
BB in a magazine.
POWER SOURCE:
It is important to note that internal mechanisms will not be powered by
a Ni-Mh battery below 7.4V and at the same time the
“FET” system protecting the replica will not allow for powering by a
Li-Po batteries 11.1V and higher.
ATTENTION!
The set does not include a battery or a charger.
The set
includes:
- replica
- magazine
- cleaning rod
- magazine speedloader
- User’s manual
NiCd
rechargeable battery is characterized by high efficiency
current-carrying capacity, but there are disruptive effect on memory.
Should be unloaded and loaded in the full cycle, ie, it is recommended
to fully discharge, and after unloading must charge the battery
immediately without leaving it for a long time in a discharged state.
NiMH batteries have a higher self-discharge over time and shorten the
life - on the other hand, they earn about 30% more capacity.
Blow back is a simulation system of the cocking lever - it imitates the work of it as the equivalent sharp. This system raises the realism and adds a lot more experience during shooting.
It is the spped of bb, while its leaving the innerbarrel of replica. This speed is measured in FPS (Feet Per Second).
1 FPS = 0,3 m/s
1 J = 99 m/s
1 J = 326,7 FPS
Indications v2, v3, v6 does not mean the level of advance, but only shape of gearbox skeleton which was used and selected by the manufacturer depending on the capabilities of the body of the replica. For example, a models of the M4/M16 family, MP5, have a v2 gearbox, while the AK family have gearbox v3.
Hop-Up system is used for overclocking bb during the shot (putting it in rotation), through which, it extends its flight path. Acting laws of physics make that bb lift up, while the gravitational force take it down. Appropriate adjustment of Hop-Up, will compensate for these two factors, which result in long and straight flight for longer distance and be greater focus shot (to improve accuracy).
